Ronetta A. Billy
Having survived child abuse, impoverishment, grief, teenage and single motherhood, and even Guillain-Barré Syndrome; an incurable, life-threatening illness that left her body completely paralyzed before adulthood, Ronetta Billy’s life is a testimony of resilience and overcoming adversities through her faith in Jesus's love . Her purpose is to use her story to empower hurting souls, break the silence surrounding trauma, and remind every wounded flower that our pain does not override our purpose.
My Story
Born in Guyana and later migrating to the beautiful island of Saint Lucia, Ronetta Billy’s story is one of resilience, survival, faith, and the courage to bloom again after life insists on wounding. The Plucked White Orchid, the first memoir in the Brokenness to Bloom series, shares her raw and heartfelt journey through pain and healing after over 30 years of silence, while shedding light on the emotional realities many people endure behind closed doors.
In 2023, Ronetta migrated to Canada with her husband, Benjamin Billy, where together they are raising their three amazing children while continuing to build a life rooted in purpose, faith, and community. Her career journey spans sales, marketing, business development, and office management, but at her core she is an entrepreneur, self-published author, motivator, and passionate community leader who believes in creating safe spaces for God to heal and manifest our purpose. Through her memoir and this platform, Ronetta hopes to remind others that we are all unique flowers in the garden of life and whether we have been bruised, neglected, or plucked too soon, we still carry the ability to be mended and nurtured by the Gardener's gentle hands to bloom again.
Her mission is to encourage those who feel confused or lost, those with shattered faith and abuse survivors to break the silence, embrace their truth, and find in knowing their story still has purpose. More than just a memoir, The Plucked White Orchid is an invitation for others to feel seen, heard, supported, and connected on their own journey from brokenness to bloom.
